Jahzy Of Ground Zero- Growing Up [Mixtape Review]

Jahzy mixtape ‘Growing Up’ is a mixtape one can definitely recommend to the Grime music lovers out there. I would describe ‘Growing Up’ to be a dark underground no gimmick having collection of music, and something that would surely be appreciated by the true lovers of the Grime music genre.

‘Growing Up’ contains slow paced music with heavy baselines throughout that will ensure that your stereo watts are working to their full ability. My favourite song from the E.P would have to be the track ‘Girl’, I suppose it is safe to say that I was suckered in at first by the Spanish guitars which add a soft touch to the otherwise x-rated themed song, but all is in good fun. Another song that really got my blood boiling was the song entitled ‘Illusion’, which truly can spark the life back into the veins of any listener.

‘Growing Up’ is a fantastic mixtape for you underground Grime lovers, so be sure not to miss out on it. You can download or stream this mixtape right here and now for FREE!!!!

Tremz- Kid Off Da Block [Mixtape Review]

The young and growing artist Tremz kicks off his first mixtape ‘Kid Off Da Block’. Tremz is very talented, and still developing his skills as an artist, and if he continues with the growth and passion he has shown thus far, we can expect to see great things from Tremz in the near future.

The cover tracks that Tremz has chosen to use on his mixtape are very RnB focused. However this does not affect the performance that Tremz delivers on these tracks, he still manages to keep on time with the rhythms and not fall behind causing him to stumble on his words. Tremz voice and style of flow are very distinctive amongst many, it is easy on the ears, and surely something you will remember.

‘Drink On Me’ is my favourite track from the mixtape. With great vocals and a memorable chorus, this most definitely is a song many will come to enjoy.

Make sure you get your hands on the mixtape ‘Kid Off Da Block’, what have you got to lose? Its FREE!!! Stream or download it right here and now, the choice is yours.

Menace & Rowdie- Bout To Set It Off [Mixtape Review]

Hip-hop, Grime, Bassline and Dubstep on one mixtape is a lot to ask for on one E.P, but delivering this variety of music seems to come easy to Menace & Rowdie as they present their mixtape ‘Bout To Set It Off’.

From the first song they will have you wanting to bounce around in your room with an unnatural source of energy. The mixtape comes with a total of eight hot vibing tracks, which will lift any gloomy spirit out of the dumps in time for the weekend. Menance & Rowdie are easy to listen to, and do a good job in keeping on time with the music, in which a lot of artist fail to do.

‘Hocus Pocus’ is perhaps my favourite song from the E.P, as one cannot help but love the dark and deep bassline this track presents. The freestyle performance of Menace & Rowdie on this song is nothing short of exceptional.

If you’re in the mood to party the night away then this is the mixtape for you, so make sure that you do not miss out on it. Download or stream it, right here and now for FREE!!!

The mixtape contains a lot of up-tempo beats with RnB flavours, which truly do complement the stylised flow of London Ivy.

There are many songs that I had taken a liking to on this mixtape, so narrowing it down to a few can be a challenging conquest. For the ladies out there lending an ear to London Ivy, I would suggest to you the track ‘Gotta Let You Go’ with its soothing beat, and great vocals, I am sure that it is something you will come to love before long. P. Loco- This Is Me [Mixtape Review]

UK Hip-hop artist and producer P.Loco has landed his first mixtape called ‘This Is Me’. On this mixtape P. Loco has chosen to make the world aware of his abilities as a lyricist and a music producer. He describes himself as a marmite artist, simply put, some will love him, some will hate him. However, it is up to you, the listener, to discover what P. Loco is all about.

P.Loco’s mixtape has a very underground concept to it. P. Loco does not really exhibit a commercial style of hip-hop flow, or contain light-hearted content in his songs, however he does perform some fun loving songs now and again on this mixtape. P. Loco takes it upon himself to deliver the world as he see’s it through his eyes in his gritty style of hip-hop rhyming.

A song that may stand out to many listeners, who may be in search of a more party vibe is the track entitled ‘Nodd Ya Head To This’ which was produced by Mr Wallbangerz who has been working closely with P.Loco. The track was sampled from the Backstreet Boys song ‘Everybody’ and made into a club banging hip-hop song. This track demonstrates the fun side of P.Loco so that you may see that life is not always dark, cold and wet. ‘10 Gash Commandment’s is also another song that will have many of you laughing as P. Loco gives you a few tips on how to successfully handle the women in your life.

P.Loco, is growing every day as an artist and we can only hope to see more of him in the near future, but why don’t you start with getting your hands on P.Loco’s mixtape ‘This Is Me’. Download or stream it, right here and now for FREE!!!!

ILL Murk- The B-List [Mixtape Review]

In 2008 the skillful artist known as ILL Murk released a mixtape called ‘The B-List’. Although I was only given the pleasure of listening to it recently, I still found it to be a fascinating mixtape, ILL Murk was as strong a lyricist in 2008 as he is now, so ‘The B-List’ is certainly a mixtape worth checking out, as ILL Murk has a lot of talent in his arsenal that he wishes to share with the world.

ILL Murk has always been an artist to deliver an honest and truthful message through his music, and really gets the minds of his listeners ticking. Even so, ILL Murk can be quite humuours in his work, and although he has a tough exterior you may even find that he does have a sensitive side to his personality.

A song that I liked from the E.P, and that gave me quite a bit of laughter was the song ‘Forbidden Fruit’ in which ILL Murk talks about a particular part of the body that should not place his lips upon, despite how hungry he may be. ‘Only Human’ is also another great song, the message ILL Murk delivers in this song revolves around the fact that no matter how tough somebody may seem on the surface, they can be hurt just as much as any other person that walks on the face of the Earth. I found this interesting because on many occasions it seems as though a lot people forget that they are not made of steal, and bullets will hurt them just as much as it would anyone else. If it is an RnB vibe you are in search for, then make sure you give the song ‘Out Of Love’ 3 minutes of your time, I am sure that you will come to enjoy this mellow laid back track.

Although this mixtape has been around for sometime, I am sure that t here are many of you that have not been given the opportunity to hear it, so make sure you download it right here and now for FREE!!!

Ben. B has released his mixtape entitled ‘Turning Corners’. A combination of soothing melodies and beats, alongside strongly delivered lyrical content by Ben. B makes this a fantastic mixtape that should definitely be added to your collection of UK hip-hop. The mixtape consist of only 7 tracks, but they are 7 tracks that have been created with the ingredients of nothing but pure talent and a passion for music.

3D has once again done an exceptional job with the musical production on this E.P, with beats and rhythms that you will be humming along to in no time. ‘Hey You’ which is the first song from the E.P really does kick-start the mixtape. Within moments of listening to it, you will find yourself in a state of tranquility as your mind relaxes and your ears focus on ambient themed melodies and Ben. B’s passionate rhymes. ‘Keepin Focused’ is most certainly my favourite song from the E.P, as Ben. Slay- Manchester Man [Mixtape Review]

Slay is back, and has come is going strong with his mixtape ‘Manchester Man’. This up-tempo mixtape is one that I would defiantly recommend for anybody wanting to unwind and release their wild side and enjoy the benefits of a good time. Even though this mixtape by Slay is vibrant in terms of musical production, this has not caused Slay to lower his standards when it comes to delivering quality lyrical talent. ‘Manchester Man’ also provides for the more laid back listener who may want to just take time to relax at the weekend.

‘She Wants Me’ is a song that will be surely loved by the ladies, as its nice calm beat and melody surely does open the gateway to those buried emotions, and you can be sure that after a first listen, Slay will have you singing along to the hooks in no time. For all of you wanting to get drunk and party till the sun comes up ‘One Too Many’ is definitely the song for you, it certainly succeeded in getting me to get up and dance around the room whilst getting dressed, even if it is a Monday morning. ‘If I Didn’t Mc’ is my favourite song from the E.P, as Slay lets you into his mind of what his life may actually be like if he was not able to continue on his path of music. This is a story that many who chose to follow their true passions will be able to relate too.

Forward Movin- The 5 Track Pact [Mixtape Review]

Forward Movin’ return with their 2nd mixtape ‘The 5 Track Pact’. The short but sweet mixtape really does demonstrate the facts of quality over quantity, as Forward Movin’ once again have stood up to show the world exactly what it is they are made of. The sound of this E.P is very fresh and certainly not something that one hears everyday, so when you do come across such a fresh and diverse sound you really should take the time to embrace and enjoy.

‘On My Grind’ is a great track from the E.P as it discusses the hard work that Forward Movin’ put into their music on a day-to-day basis, and that regardless of the problems that they may face they will still rise to fight for and achieve their goals in life. ‘On My Grind’ is a song that many people should consider living by as it may even empower you to push even harder at achieving the things that you may wish to accomplish in this life. ‘Bring The Beat Back’ is most certainly a song that has been made for those who cannot help but get their dancing shoes on to either demonstrate their amazing dance skills, or simply make fools of themselves on the dance floor, well, whichever it is, it is all in good fun, so don’t hold back when Forward movin’ give you the urge to ‘shake what your momma gave ya’

Rec- The Good Stuff [Mixtape Review]

‘The Good Stuff’ is the hot mixtape by young UK hip-hop artist Rec. Rec has demonstrated his passion for the music on this mixtape, as he starts off on his musical journey. Rec has laid down a strong foundation in which he can now build up from as he progresses even further with his music. This E.P contains a laid back sensational vibe, most of the music production is easy going, but is brought to life by Rec’s vibrant lyrical flow.

The combined collection of songs from this E.P presents a varied style of music. Most songs are portrayed in the underground hip-hop style, however there songs of the Grime and RnB genre. There are a lot of songs I have come to enjoy from this E.P such as ‘A Mothers Pain’, this song is surely one that many will find hits home the hardest, as most of us out there would love nothing more than for our mothers to be proud of our accomplishments, and would strive to do whatever we can to make life as easy as possible for her in the near future. ‘Zoners’ is also another of my favourite songs, I love the chilled production of this track, and it is something that you can defiantly mellow out to after a long week in the office, if so it were.

Rec is a young and talented artist, so be sure to check in on him, and see how far he will take his talents in the future. Get his mixtape ‘The Good Stuff’ right here and now for FREE!!!
